Guest Anonymous Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 I'm trying to find out the breed of dog that has stripes on it's back similar to a striped tabby cat (kinda tiger like). They are short hair medium to small size dogs, athletic looking, often see them in city settings...They seem like a good choice for city living given size and their disposition. Thanks. Quote
cairnmom Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 I think there are a couple kinds of dogs that having this brindle marking....greyhounds and whippets do. Pitbulls do too. What does it look like? Is it a hound? Something else? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 Okay guys I am having a brain lapse right now but what are the dogs that look real similar to a whippet but are usually smaller??? Like height wise... Come on you know what I am talking about.... The mini Whippet dogs.. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 The Italian Greyhound. :) Great little dogs!! My friend Tim has a chihuahua/Italian Greyhound cross, and she's just the sweetest dog!! (Plus, she can RUN!! We clocked her at 22mph, having her run alongside a 4-wheeler with a speedometer!) She wasn't even panting, and wanted to run somemore!! :) Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 Thank you!! Now the question is do they come in a brindle coloration? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 Yes, they do!! Absolutely aristocratic, elegant dogs! They can also have a small white patch on the chest. :) However, the brindle markings are a DQ for the show ring....but I've seen two that were marked that way..:) Edited to fix a sp. error! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 Okay that will be my guess if our guest is reffering to the brindle coloration(like the pic of "rub my belly" Sasha)!! Italian Greyhound!! Thanks Liquid!! Quote
