Guest Anonymous Posted November 3, 2002 Posted November 3, 2002 Last week a stray dog appeared on our porch and wouldn't leave... I'm trying to find him a new home but it would really help if I knew his breed, and being a cat person I really know nothing about dogs. *G* Here are pictures of him; can anyone give me an idea of what kind(s) he is? Guest Anonymous Posted November 3, 2002 Posted November 3, 2002 Yup! A beagle or fox hound. Is he a good dog? Do you keep in inside? If so, he's probably already found his new home!! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 3, 2002 Posted November 3, 2002 He appears to be a Fox Hound, either American or English. He also could be a Harrier Hound. Are you in a rural area? If so he could have lost his way on a hunt, as owners of these particular breeds are very devoted to their dogs. Check your newspaper lost & found adds and also look up on the net Breed Associated Rescues (fox hound rescue, hound rescue). Good luck. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 I think his ears are a bit to long to be an English Foxhound... He looks like an American to me. Lol... My guess was like Pat's. He probably lost his way while hunting. Did he have a collar on(probably not)? He looks like a really sweet dog! Hope you find his owners. If not, maybe he'll find a new, good home! -Nikki Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 One things for sure-he's CUTE! :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Hi all! I just thought I'd drop in again quick and thank you for all the advice given on his breed and stuff... we put an ad in Wednesday's paper and have had a few interested parties already; a lady is coming out to look at him this afternoon so I think he'll be getting a new home soon. ^.^ Our neighbors who saw him were of the opinion that he was a drop-off, possibly beaten or something. He's a nice doggie, but with pet cats and a pet duck running around outside it's not really practical to keep him ourselves. He appreciates all the concern that's been given him here! ^.^ --Tabby Quote
