cairnmom Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 Are dogs affected by catnip like cats are? I bought Frodo some little cat balls that are filled with catnip (they are the perfect size). They are like mini tennis balls. He is chewing on one now and tearing about the house like a nut. So, does the catnip make him exicited likes gets are? It is very comical to see him carry the ball in his mouth. It just barely fits in his jaws. Jessica Quote
Shannon_C Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 Having 3 cats who have catnip from time to time....because too much makes them wild, i couldnt say whether my dogs are affected by it as they arent allowed near any......but i must point out that toys for cats like ping pong balls etc are not suitable for dogs, even the small ones could possibly choke....cats car'nt hold them in there mouth so they tap the ball with there paw...dogs won't do that they would rather chew....all im saying is be very careful, keep your eye on your dog at all times. cairnmom Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 These ones should be ok since they are just like little tennis balls. If he manages to chew them up, they will go in the garbage of course. The only thing he is left alone with is his nylabone and pizzle. I found a little dog ball at Petco and he likes that. It rattles when it moves too. He can't pick it up because it is too slippery. The Boxer Rescue was at Petco today. I just missed them but they had some beauties from what I saw being loaded into cars. :) Jessica Quote
