Shannon_C Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Laugh out loud Blue, i have no idea what a Groogle is either....stupid people and as for the rest. Who do they think they are cross breeding there dogs, experts'.....its ridiculous, do people honestly think that there going to get good dogs out of it (no wrong answer) money is the right word and the prices are a shame...you pay that much for a Pedigree! bk_blue Posted November 1, 2002 Author Posted November 1, 2002 A spoodle is an English Cocker Spaniel X Poodle I think. Sometimes called a Cockapoo... Quote
bk_blue Posted November 1, 2002 Author Posted November 1, 2002 It's possible K, though maybe it is too lanky to be a Golden? ... you are right, Mei-Mei, it looks like a bit of a mess... kind of gangly and out of proportion. :( Quote
Shannon_C Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 sashagirl napisał(a):Groodle? Why am I surprised? Shannon, I love that pic of Charlie!!!! Thankyou Sashagirl :D :D i had to literally lie on the floor to get that one! he was good though, he just lay there even though hes looking the other way! :o Quote
Shannon_C Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Thankyou for posting Sashagirl, i would say its a GreyhoundxPoodle, it definately as the coat and head of a Poodle, long sleaky legs and tail of a Greyhound. Unusual looking! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Greyhound/poodle....bad eyes and bad hips... But I am wondering if it is not a Standard Poodle/Golden X? Only because of the ears and thickness of bone structure... I did not see any Greyhounds listed in their little "breed" list.. They seem to pick easy to care for breeds  Quote

anne3149 Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 This cross breeding is promoted in Australia by a gardener who has a TV show. He calls these cross breeds 'designer dogs' and promotes backyard breeders who are just in it for the $$$$ they sell for anything upwards of $400 Australian ($800 USA) can you believe stupid people go for it. Evidently he started promoting these Xs when he had an argument with the Australian Kennel Control and has never promoted a pure bred dog since. He is an absolute idiot and obviously does not agree with what he promotes because he has a pure breed himself. His latest effort was to promote Malatiers!!! a cross between Cavs and Malts. He rabbits on about these crosses being better dogs because of 'hybrid vigour'. He also has a vet on his show to back up his claims. Just shows you some people will do anything for money. That particular vet breeds GSD's but sings the praises of these 'designer dogs'. This idiot gardner hasn't worked out that dogs are not plants and the same practises do not apply. OK I feel better now!! Quote
Hobbit Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 [quote name='corgilady']:o Hey.... this link was in the same paper.... check it out http://www.just-buy-me.itctv.com/ Would you call this mail-order puppies (BK)? Anyone notice the picture with the "mother", caption says "3 weeks old with mother". That is a crock of BS, look closely---the "mother" has very young puppies with her, NO WAY are those 3 wk old pups walking around by the dog house hers. SHE has a litter of newborns. OR, am I just going crazy!? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 No you are not going crazy... I see them to and guessing age range would not be 3 wks :-? more along 1 week at the MAX! And if that is suppose to be mom in the house with pups outside who is the litter with her then??? Poses a lot of questions if you ask me!!?? Quote
Hobbit Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 Yeah, thought so. She has newborned babies with her. Those pups on the outside are NOT hers. Geez!!! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 ugh, this drives me crazy! My aunt paid for a maltese/cocker spaniel cross. Advertised as basically a maltese that wouldn't tear stain. She bought the pup from the same breeder she got her first maltese from. That dog had more problems than any animal should suffer from  Chewed it's feet so badly they bled all the time, very nasty temperment, severe seperation anxiety. Some people never learn! I know it's off topic, but the add in the paper that infuriated me the most though, was one for siberian tiger cubs, $2500. Quote
bk_blue Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 What a load of crap... any fool, even me  can see the pups inside the kennel next to the mother, and the pups OUTSIDE. Corgi, I guess that by even putting the price on a website like that they're setting themselves up. Most of the "reputable" breed clubs I have looked at in my state don't have the price of an average Dal/Weim/Basset anywhere near it, you have to do your own research and ring THEM, mail order buyers who are too lazy to even go and look at a litter wouldn't bother calling up and asking for a price. :x There does not appear to be any info given about the German Shepherd either, what sort of person a GSD would suit and what lifestyle, their characteristics, health problems etc etc. Jamie- Siberian tiger cubs?????????????? What will they think of next... Quote

bk_blue Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 What about a pig-elephant hybrid? Might come out looking a bit like some of the world's leading politicians  Quote
Hobbit Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 You KNEW my demented mind would think this --- what part (of the body) would the trunk of the elephant be? :o Quote
bk_blue Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 Hobbit I think there is a seperate thread for that called PIZZLE        Quote
bk_blue Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 Now that I think about it, an elephant's trunk would be a politician's LARGE INTESTINE. Well you didn't expect me to think they'd be entitled to a big pizzle? Quote
Hobbit Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 Gutter, gutter, gutter..... I was thinking......NOSE, since they stretch the truth so much! Quote
bk_blue Posted November 2, 2002 Author Posted November 2, 2002 Y'know, I never even thought of that... Once in the gutter, always in the gutter :D Quote
