I know this is a very unpopular view among many and I bite my tongue sometimes until it nearly bleeds trying to stay out of this kind of debate, but I am adamantly anti PETA. I am glad to see sites that do show the flip side of these people. I think that information should be as widely available as the propaganda. Because I could see this getting ugly, I'll just leave it at that. I don't want to stomp all over someone's feelings, or engage in a lengthy battle. I am as passionate about my beliefs as the PETA lovers are about theirs and I would only be villainized for loathing them the way I do ("but PETA is only looking out for poor defenseless animals... how could you be against that?"), so it would be pointless to argue. This is just the kind of thing I think SHOULD be available. Sorry, K. :( Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 I believe wholeheartedly that animals should be free from abuse, and that those who abuse animals should suffer consequences. I also believe that we need to take a good hard look at where our meat food sources come from and make some major changes to how THAT nasty process works. I believe it is necessary to use animals in medical research, but that it should be done in the most humane way possible. While I don't know much about PETA, I do know that they are very extreme in thier views. No animals in medical research, no food products from animals etc. One thing I know they called for is the complete ban of pit bulls, the nuetering of all existing pit bulls and the exctinction of the breed. Shame on PETA for that. I really don't like their preachy attitude, you might be a vegetarian and sit on the board of a charity or two but that's not good enough if you wear leather shoes... Quote
