bk_blue Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Oh yeah, it would definitely work. I think someone did similar tests on plants to see what music *they* responded to best (ie. grew fastest, looked healthiest etc) and classical won hands down... nothing like Mahler 5 to get things moving... (ahhh, brass players love Mahler) :D Quote
bk_blue Posted October 24, 2002 Author Posted October 24, 2002 Oh come on now K, wouldn't they like to hear a little Bach? (woof woof!)  Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 My sister has a JRT that will cock her head from side to side listening when there is classical music on............ she's quite funny to watch. Quote
cairnmom Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 My pup better get use to the heavy metal and 70s music here too...LOL I did put classical on in the car though and he settled down on the way to Petco. So, maybe there is something to the theory. Quote
Hobbit Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 There is something definately to the classical music! A CD playing ocean waves will put a kennel of dogs sleep and makes them calmer. Classical music is calming and the dogs are so much at peace. My family owned a large horse ranch and I continued the breeding operation for several years afterward. I played Classical Music in the stallion barn, the mare parol and foaling barns. Those were some mello horses. One stallion like Mickey Gilley and HATED Rock music. If someone turned the station to the Rock --- he was one mad hombre. He'd be so angry, he'd try to stomp the living daylights out of anyone in his path. When Classical or Mickey Gilley was playing, he was the sweetest and easiest stallion to handle. Quote
