Guest Anonymous Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 I wrote this a while ago, and I think its cool. Mabey you'll disagree but i love my dog. Hes so cute!!!!! Duke Coarse and tan, Your fur grows gradual. Dark and sweet, Your eyes are calm. Your dark brown ears, Uniquely yours. Your a ball of skin, With the happy smile. Your tails always moving, Showing me your alright. Your the dog in my life, My only canine companion. You've made me laugh, You've made me cry, And I hope you never die. I want to see you in heaven, At the Gates to my after life. I want to always know your with me, Even when i don't know where you are. I want to be with you forever. Your my only dog, Your Duke. It's not the best poem, its kinda stupid, but i had nothing to do, so i put it up. Quote

ellieangel Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 I've had this up in my kitchen i found it on a site ages ago . I trust you to take care of me,to help me through each day, I trust you to be kind to me and teach me how to play, I trust you when you shout at me though i don't know why, I trust you when you look at me with anger in your eyes, I trust you when you scare me,but i really want to hide, I trust you because I'm faithful and I'll always try my best, I trust you for the good times, forgetting all the rest, I trust you, youareall i have,I need to feel content, I trust you though i wonder, where all the kindness went, I trust you when you tell me,it will be alright, I trust you when you walk away, until you're out of sight, I trust you while I'm sitting here, but,I'm frightened and I'm sad, I trust you,but I'm lonely, have I really been that bad ? I trust you yet I sense, that something isn't right. I trust you but,it's been a while, since you left me here that night, I trust you though i wonder, why the people stop and stare, I trust you and i hope that i will see you standing there, Itrusted you,you abandonedme ,i was your faithful friend, I trusted that the bond we had would never have an end. :( Quote

dogwoman Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 This Pointer was tied to my gate when I returned from shopping last Thu, the poem could have been written by her.... Sarah Quote
snowpaws Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 Ahh shes gorgeous! Do you know anything about her?? Are you gonna keep her?!! :D Poor little girl  Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 No, I know nothing about her, she is about 2-3 years and is so obese that her front legs have suffered greatly. She is a great personality and gets on with anything, she loves kids and horses. I will slim her down slowly, have her spayed and then home her if I can. It's a welcome break from the bull breeds, hehehehe. I named her Grousie, after the birds :p. Sarah Quote

marion Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 Had a good cry when I read this this morning, just what I needed before I went out to work. Then to find that one of my customers dogs is dying, so of I went again. Teary day today.     Quote
marion Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 By the way, my customers dog is called SUE please say a prayer for her even though she always tries to bite me (she doesn't want to really). She didn't today though she just gave me a good sniff and I actually got to stroke her. Probably the last time I see her.   Quote
jen Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 oh bless her little heart  , the poor little babe is in my prayers  Quote
ellieangel Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 Hi Marion So sad to hear about sue  We had a dog at club who bit me she didn't mean to she was going for another dog and missed I had to go to casualty and get a tetanus and everything but I couldn't blame her,a week previous she had been rescued from an outside pen where she had lived for 6 years with hardly any human contact and no socialisation with any other dogs. I didn't even tell her owner actually she saw her snap towards the other dog but she didn't notice that she'd caught me !!! I didn't have the heart to tell her so I waited till she'd gone and then told the other staff members then!!! I hope sue is ok and will make her way to the rainbow bridge in peace. Bless her little heart  Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 I am hoping someone can help me locate a certain poem. Background: 2 of my dogs died last week. I was rather expecting my elderly Sheltie to decide it was time to go, but while I was attending to her a repairman's negligence resulted in the death of my shepherd/chow mix (she was only 7). I had a counseling appointment already scheduled, so I went - & learned my counselor had lost 5 dogs that same week (due to a misdiagnosed contageous illness). Anyway, I remember reading a poem about dogs, which contained the line "Your head evolved to fit my hand." I would like to read it again & share it w/ my counselor, but I can't remember the title or author. If you recognize the poem & remember title or author, I would really appreciate hearing from you (SpaceElf1@earthlink.net). Thanx. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU WANT BUT IT IS VERY NICE. IT WAS PUT ON OUR MEMORIAL PAGE BY MEMBER ICKLE I AM SO SORRY FOR YOU LOSS WHEN When the body that lived at your single will When the whisper of welcome is still (how still), When the spirit that answered your every mood is gone -wherever it goes - for good You will discover how much you care And will give your heart to a dog to tear Anon Ickle Quote
abker17 Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 I am sorry for your loss. I've never heard of a poem like that. I'm sure someone else can help. That is a very good poem, mouse. Quote
Bubblezzz Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 I'm sorry for your loss. :( I hope you find your poem, here are 2 more that are lovely: Walk With An Old Dog by Gayl Jokiel Because you will not be forever Hope against time though I may I paint your picture in my memory Eyes blue with age, muzzle gone gray Because you walked with me in Springtime Puppy-clumsy, running free As you grew, we grew together You became a part of me Because you shared with me my sorrows Not understanding-simply there Often spurring me to laughter My friend, you know how much I care Because the years have slowed your fleetness Though your spirit still is strong I promise I will take more time now So that you can go along Because you do not fear the future Living only in the now I draw strength from your example Yet time keeps slipping by somehow Because the day will soon be coming When I will no longer see You rise to greet me-but in memory You will always walk with me Someday Your chocolate button eyes, Your joyful tailwags, Your loud barks, Your big yawns, The early mornings with you by my side, In my memory they will never die. The tiny light of your life has been blown away, Oh, what wouldn Quote
