deepseasnake Posted October 9, 2002 Author Posted October 9, 2002 ...and did you notice in the "stories" section??... I saw it but did not read them I kinda figured that he they would be dog fight related though How does he know the dogs are gamebred if they're of "unknown breeding"? Goo, My thoughts exactly either he proved "gameness" in his backyard or all of a sudden after a doggie "arguement" the one still standing is now a "champ" of which drops game bred pups. Maybe he's not that bad but I can see that kind of crap happening Quote
gooeydog Posted October 9, 2002 Posted October 9, 2002 hope for Sterling's sake that he HAS turned himself around....but WHY leave that website up???? Hope for Sterling's sake that he didn't adopt her (him?) to guard the pit bulls... Quote
bk_blue Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 Go Deep! :) I don't know what to think of this guy now if what he said was true... but being too damn lazy to take down photos of his emaciated rescue dog is a poor excuse. You don't go selling dogs you've supposedly RESCUED either, not if you have the welfare of the dog in your best interests... Quote
deepseasnake Posted October 10, 2002 Author Posted October 10, 2002 I just got another reply from operationk9 here it is, I wanted to make sure to keep you updated. I have been in contact today with my contacts with investigators of dog fighting rings. We will be sending someone to the property. Someone who has a background in investigating animal cruelty and fighting rings. I have not contacted the family myself as I do not want to tip anyone off should there be a problem. I am hoping that what we find is a rational answer because if not it would make me sick to my stomach to find out that we had any association with someone who would hurt any dog. We don't adopt to people who don't make the rescues be a part of the family and spoil them rotten Andrea. I dont know about you all but I think these guys are treating the situation VERY well I am extremely impressed with Operationk9 right now! Quote
Carolk9s Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 Mei-mei, you do have a good point there, when Jesse was a youngster, he was rail thin, if not for his long coat his ribs would have shown also. His backbone was truly in evidence. At the time, I thought I was doing the best I could for him feeding him 8 cups of dry a day plus canned food. Its still horrid that these dogs are on heavy logging chains of course but the thinness of Sadie 'COULD' have be less than cruelty. Quote
deepseasnake Posted October 11, 2002 Author Posted October 11, 2002 well I dont know about you guys but had I recieved an email calling me an animal abuser I would have flown off the handle. I feel most people would have put up some kind of defense. But this guy said nothing, just explained away his dog and that was it. He never told us how much he loved or cared for them he said nothing about being insulted that we felt the way we did. I found his reply almost dredfully complacent, although Im not trying to hang the guy yet, I want to know what is going first however I cannot ignore the signs thus far, but we will see Quote
Hobbit Posted October 11, 2002 Posted October 11, 2002 Did anyone notice that when this feller talks about the owner of the dogs, not owned by him...it's a nickname, like --- "Chickee" and the woman's face is blocked out on one of the photographs, the ears are very shortly cropped on some of the dogs. These dogs aren't skinny in the eyes of dog-fighters, they are in "condition". By any other standards, they are under weight. Back yard breeder, doing extreme harm to the APBT as a breed. He is an irresponsible person who practices very poor judgement (if ANY) in breeding, nutrition, and general care of his dogs. God be with the dogs. Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted October 11, 2002 Posted October 11, 2002 God be with the dogs. Ya, God be with the dogs! :o Quote
