Guest Anonymous Posted October 2, 2002 Posted October 2, 2002 Call me totally stupid, but what is "BARF"? :-? This is the first time I have ever been on here and I see it everywhere. Can someone please help?[/quote] Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 2, 2002 Posted October 2, 2002 So let me see if I have this right. You feed your dog's bones and raw meats and veggies? :-? Aren't you worried about things like salmonela, ecoli(sp?), and bacteria that may be in the raw meats? :o Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 2, 2002 Posted October 2, 2002 Thanks for the info (newfiemom)! :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 5, 2002 Posted October 5, 2002 (newfiemom) I'll check out the link. Thanks! So in addition to the meats, bones, raw vegetables (and fruits?) You also give the dog's supplements? What kind? Where do you get them? At the grocery store or health food store? What about the ACV...I assume that this won't hurt the dog. Is there a possibility that the dog could have problems with that? I just want to be sure before I do anything...I want to KNOW that I would be making the right choice for my babies. You understand right!?! :-? Quote
deepseasnake Posted October 5, 2002 Posted October 5, 2002 JC if I could make a suggestion as well, BARF is a very simple yet VERY complex way of obtaining optimal health for your dog or cat, no matter how much info (I'm pretty sure newfiemom would agree) you get off this site it is very important to pick up at least one book on the subject by a doctor whos method you agree with. I will try to find some of my old favorite BARF sites and post them for you. But make sure all your questions are anwsered and you are totally confidant in BARFing and its methods. its alot of fun and full of yummy goodies you can make for your dogs and once you get into a system it will be automatic, but fully grasping that system takes time. just giving you a warning so that you dont throw out the dog food to early good luck :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 No...believe me I won't be throwing the dog food away until I KNOW I am making the right choice. I appreciate the help everyone. :P So, I guess my question now would be this...How many different forms of BARF are there? Is it all just one method...broken down by the pet owner to fit their dog's needs? Or are there different methods/ ideas? :-? AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL! You have been really helpful so far. 8) Quote
