really!? I dont care for it much, its probably safe to say its my least next to white

My hubby is like that...He had his heart set on getting a fawn Boxer...he always said he thought brindles were ugly and "mean looking".Ironic that we ended up with one (I begged and pleaded) ....of course NOW he's changed his tune, and he thinks his brindle boy is the greatest thing

I wouldnt not get a dog cuz it was brindle, but if I could choose I would choose fawn, but if a little puppy face asked me take him home I dont think I could turn it down based on the fact it was brindle. kinda like you

:o OK...have got to post yet ANOTHER Q.....

Ok, here it goes....The ABs in the pics at the site Deep showed us were REALLY different from the ones on this site....

http://www.templarbulldogs.com/

Ok, so whats the deal? Are those like working dogs or are those the "pet Quality"?

Cuz I mean LOOK at the difference from the ones on the breeder's site...

and the ones on the site Deep posted!!!!!!!!! :o

Anyway...sorry...I just don't get it!!!!

okay try this,

this is Gracie she is a "performance" AB

here is Loydd he is a "johnson" AB

both pics were from http://www.operationk9rescue.com

does this help at all? the other thing is fawn is one of the rarer colors for ABs I actually never heard of fawn until this site, so that might make things confusing as well.

do guys know anything about Dogue De Bordeuxs? I thought they were short like APBT but they are BIG like 120-140 range, really good lookin dogs too, awsome color!
not as cool as Chester though :D

Haven't you seen the movie "Turner and Hooch" with Tom Hanks?....Hooch was a Dogue de Bordeaux............HUGE......and LOTS of drool

really? I didnt know that, its been many years since I saw that movie, but yeah I can kinda remember hooch looking like that! cool dogs!

you know that site you posted with chester? is there any other sites with those dogs on it? cuz that page had NO information on the dogs just a little paragraph on themselves and then a phone number, I want to know more about them!

Posted

those were good sites but they were mostly normal bulldogs, I want to know about
THE GAURDIANS OF HATES
THE BIGGGGGGGG BOYS
all over 140 pounds kinda thing, are there any of those sites out there?

Ok...I did some more reading and this is what I found out (if anyone knows about this stuff please correct me if I'm misinformed...)

From what I gather there are two seperate lines of Olde Bulldogges......the LEAVITT line, and the HERMES line....with the latter being EXTRA large and bulky......soooo Deep, my guess is that if you do a search on "Hermes Bulldogge",or "Hermes Olde Bulldogge" you may find what you're looking for....more websites with double-wide dawgs

Posted

Thanx for ur help GAIN Deep...NOW I understand....hehe.........

Look like relly cute dogs...the "performance" tipe....but i mean just in my opinion....shouldn't they be seperate breeds....or...?

I saw TURNER & HOOCH! Deep, youv'e gotta see it before you decide on one! :D

THEY DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :)

Gosh...by the end of the movie I was drooling myelf! :o

[quote name='deepseasnake']Smoosh, I didnt realize you posted this site,

http://www.oldebulldogge.com/con-frame.htm
just a moment ago in "I cant contain myself" I posted it after doing a search on the Leavitt line, sorry I gave you no credit, I'll go back an give you props where it is do

what do you know about these guys? did you just find them one day on the net or do you have personal exp with one?

 ..no worries...your websearch is as good as mine,so no credit required

As for the breed ,you know about as much as I do (I've posted all the info I've found). Next to Boxers, Bulldogs are my favorite type of dog,and I found an article on these oversized guys in Dogs U.S.A. I have never seen one in person and frankly never knew they even existed, but the idea of a larger version of the English Bulldog (allegedly with fewer health concerns) definately peaked my interest. I love all dogs but have a soft spot for the large breeds (especially bullies). :D

:D I've recently signed on as a volunteer for this org. They are a phenomenal group of people who love and take great care of these dogs (and yes, lots of them are just gorgeous and so, so sweet..wish I could take them all home!). Also, they don't just take in the pretty ones, but dogs with disabilities and/or special needs and make sure they get the best treatment possible. I'd recommend contacting them to see how you may be able to help, or to find out more about them. They often work with folks all over the country to rescue dogs and find great homes for them. www.operationk9rescue.com

My 2 cents. Some of these AB's are very poorly bred, and you can show all the pics you want with ribbons being handed to them, but you really can't tell if it's for working dog competition or conformation. One I could read was a UKC show. and I can tell you this that UKC (NOT UNITED KINGDOM KENNEL CLUB) will and does register anything that even barely resembles a breed. Also, people can say mine are the biggest, and blah, blah, but with all breeds, there is a breed standard that must be adhered to in breeding and showing. Breeding for size can be a very poor breeding healthwise, tempermentwise.

jchid,
that sounds like fun, they seem to be a very good place for dogs in need. I wonder do you know an Andrea there? I had emailed her back and forth about some conncerns I had for Sterling the Neo. She was gonna get back to me and ease my mind after she checked up on Sterlings house but I have yet to hear from her.

you dont know anything about Sterlings owner Norm, do you?

Guest Pat,
Do you know ABs pretty well? cuz I have some Qs if you do.

I dont understand where you are coming from, the rescue doesnt really have any say in the dogs they get.
