Guest Anonymous Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 I know I shouldn't give this the time of day and I shouldn't even reply. But all I want to say is Deep thank you for taking up for me and the BullBoxers. McKenzie wants to give you a big sloppy wet slobber kiss. :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 2, 2002 Posted October 2, 2002 I have a 1 1/2 year old American Bulldog/Boxer (Possible Breed Foundation Dog if I want him to be). One of my friends has his brother. They came about by accident. Mine, Mosley looks like a 75 lb thick beautiful Boxer, his brother, Porter, looks like a 90 lb thick, beautifully colored, quick, American Bulldog. You wouldn't even believe they were brothers. And all I know is this is the smartest, most loyal, best looking dog I've ever come across and if I can breed him with another of his kind, I will! And, not to make tons of cash off him, but because I'd like to share my great gift with other people. I can send you a couple pictures if you're interested. Thanks. Shawn P.S. Can anybody help me figure out how to post pictures of my dogs for you all to see? But to be honest since I heard about the whole bullboxer thing, I've been REALLY curious if there is a Boxer/AB mix out there, what an awsome dog that would be! I could easily see someone paying in excess of 1000 dollars for one of these. Provided all the quircks were worked out, and that the dog came out the way I am imagining, that is . Quote
deepseasnake Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 actually you may consider going to maniac dog lovers http://denim.bbboy.net/maniacdoglovers they have alot of info on the latest about the bullboxer breed :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 Yeah, I've been there already. Thanks. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 If you go to the Pictures section of the forum and read the first post it should give you all the information about posting pictures!!! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 Personally, I agree with you(deapseasnake). All Breeds did begin at some point. Whether you believe that we were all created by one God, or if you believe in evolution. It all had to start somewhere. People are being scammed by paying those prices...not knowing what you get...but we do the same thing when we go to a local shelter. You hardly ever know where the dogs have come from, medical history, anything! :( But we still condone that? I believe a good dog is a good dog...no matter where it came from! The "BEST" dog I ever had came from a shelter locally! He did have health issues...but it made him no less a dog! He was AWSOME! :D Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 THIS IS TO HHMMM, OR WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS! FIRST OF ALL...WHO ARE YOU TO PREACH WHEN SOMEONE ELSE DOES WRONG? DOG'S WERE GIVEN TO US BY "GOD" TO BE A FRIEND...NOT A MEANS TO ENTERTAIN OR MAKE MONEY! THAT INCLUDES BREEDER'S THAT DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! People...we should research this a little more maybe! I get the feeling there's a whole lot more to it! :D Quote

Sorry I dont understand, what dont you agree on? please refresh my memory  one thing I will point out, if someone pays huge money for a designer breed it will usually mean they can pay huge money for medical attention so as far as the dog is concerned he is takin care of Quote
Smooshie Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 These are Amocat00's Boxer/American Bulldogs : MOSLEY PORTER(with Mosley) aren't they gorgeous??? There are more pics of them posted in the photos section... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 3, 2002 Posted October 3, 2002 I agree with you deep...that all dogs came from one breed. I understand that there are alot of REPUTABLE(sp?) BREEDERS out there. There is also a bunch of looser's that think they know what they are doing...when of course they really don't. My point is...no matter where the dog comes from...they still have a right to the best any human can offer. :D Correct me if I am wrong...I just took some of the conversation to mean that these "MUTTS" didn't belong. :-? I own 3 pure bred dogs right now. I have owned "mutts" in the past...I could say that I have spent as much money on my pure bred's as I did on my "mutts", when it comes to health related issues. bk_blue Posted October 4, 2002 Posted October 4, 2002 I think the main difference is between adopting a cross bred dog (or any dog, really) from the shelter and buying a cross bred dog (and *mostly* getting ripped off) from a "breeder" is that you save a poor dog from death row if you adopt :) Quote
deepseasnake Posted October 4, 2002 Posted October 4, 2002 well I guess if someone has to pay 4k for a dog and doesnt feel like there is any other dog for him than by all means pick up a "designer breed" if I have 4 grand into an animal if I even see a eye goober he is in the vet and getting checked out, I'll bet most of these people feed their animals on BARF too. I'll bet they are the best financialy cared for dogs out there. that said I dont like the idea of people breeding these dogs because some rich guys dont know their left from right when it comes to dogs. I think that all of us and all of anyone who knows anything about dogs should not buy from breeders at all. I feel I have a responsibility to save a life, especially if there are places like operationk9 out there, how perfect! Now I am talking about companionship dogs, I realize if you show or work your dogs buying from a breeder is sometimes the only option, but the working dog excuse is looseing weight by the day . also like in Kiwi's case if there are a limited amount of a breed and it needs strengthening in a specific area the appropriate action would be to buy off a breeder. but all in all to many dogs die to make more, that seems to be the moto around here and I cant agree more, we are part of an epedimic Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted October 8, 2002 Posted October 8, 2002 If a breed club wants to change the standard of their breed by mixing with something else for a specific purpose, or people want to start a new breed by mixing, and do it RIGHT, like the alaskan malamute, more power to them. That is not what is happening with these "designer breeds". A reputable breeder requires a spay/nueter contract to be signed with every pet quality dog it sells. In order to be bred, a reputable breeder will require that it's show quality dog has proven itself in numerous ways. Therefore, anyone breeding for mixes has a very slim chance of having obtained their "stock dogs" from reputable breeders. And neither did the generation before them come from reputable breeders, or before that... How many generations do you want to back with no health testing, no heart testing, no OFA'd hips? No proven conformation, no proven working ability, no proven temperment? And just what is the standard that is being bred to? There is none. This is the bane of people who are true breed fanciers. These "breeders" will very likely not take responsibility for the pups they home for the duration of the dogs life, as responsible breeders will. More dogs in the shelters :( Dont' get me wrong, I have a shelter adopted rottweiler that I know comes from poor breeding and I also have a Mutt. I love them both dearly, but irresponsible breeding, and this is just another form of that, is what is destroying many of our beloved breeds. Quote
bk_blue Posted October 8, 2002 Posted October 8, 2002 That was well said Jamie. I do know that my lovable, beautiful mutt was a product of irresponsible breeding/ownership. Thankfully he is healthy and has a great temperament. He wouldn't exist if his parents had been fixed, but I'm glad he does, so it's like catch 22... but I would have found another good shelter dog regardless, or bought from a reputable breeder... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I AM A PROUD OWNER OF A BEAUTIFUL 3 MONTH OLD BULLBOXER NAMED URSULA. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE FACT THAT SHE IS A MIXED BREED.I FIND THAT SHE HAS THE BEST QUALITIES OF BOTH DOGS AND I COULD NOT ASK FOR A MORE LOVING COMPANION. HOWEVER I DO NOT SEE WHY THEY HAVE TO CHARGE AN OUTRAGEUOS AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR A NON PUREBRED DOG. Quote
