Hobbit Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 To visit a puppy mill in Texas, go to the listed web address. Unfortunately, they are within the "law" and nothing can be done, they are and will continue to operate. They say they've had over 100,000 visits in one year. At least it looks clean in the pictures. Feel free to email them and express your opinions --- http://www.cndpets.org/ Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........These are the Pitbulls.......Some of them look kinda sick...what'd ya think? :-? http://www.geocities.com/cndpets3/pit_bull.html These dogs were sold when REALLY young!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 all I can say is sick that is just sick.....those dogs are mixed they are not pure breed. Someone is getting majorly ripped off. Quote
Hobbit Posted September 26, 2002 Author Posted September 26, 2002 Well I just couldn't help myself --- I sent them an email inquiring about their Australian Cattle Dogs --- CKC registered, of course. I asked if the pups came from working parents. She said, "yes". I then asked if I could see the parents work livestock to see their style. She said that "they didn't put on shows". Welllll, I let her have it then. She said if I wanted to see them I could go to the "ranch" and see them work. I asked for directions....hum....NO response. Quote
corgilady Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 NONE of the dogs look like very good breeding to me. However it does appear to be clean. Did you read the "about us" page? It says that there are 9 people there taking care of the dogs. That still seems like an awful lot of dogs to take care of. I have a hard time with 3, and I can't imagine a litter of puppies as well. gooeydog Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 What a nice crop job on the male APBT... I can't help but wonder how that happened. They consider themselves ethical breeders, but they have probably close to 50 dogs, which they keep in 12'x12' kennels. :x It also concerns me a little that they have a double dapple dachshund as a breeder, and the other 3 breeders are dapples, so any pups produced by them will be double dapples (double dapples often have eye or ear problems/deformities, and many have other problems as well, some lethal, so ethical breeders won't purposely breed two dapples). The APBTs are definitely not breeding quality, and how can Chihuahuas be mini? Quote
Hobbit Posted September 27, 2002 Author Posted September 27, 2002 Oh Gooey, try to explain the "double dapple" bullshi+ to a doxie breeder! They just do not understand........MERLE is a merle, by another other name it's a MERLE. MERLE to MERLE will produce lethal genes. They will argue till the cows come home --- which if you ever had cows, they never come home. Quote
Guest roo Posted September 27, 2002 Posted September 27, 2002 WELL I HAD A GOOD LOOK AT THE DOGS :o :o I DID ALSO NOTICE THAT THE BOSTONS AND THE CAIRNES LOOK TOTALLY UNUSED TO BEING HANDLED :x ALL OF THEM SEEM TO BE ALMOST PET QUALITY  THE POMS LOOK MORE LIKE GERMAN SPITZ THAN POMS. I DONT KNOW PRICES OUT THERE, ARE THESE PUPS CHEAP FOR THEIR BREEDS? IT IS A VERY SAD FACT OF LIFE BUT WHILE THERE ARE IDIOTS OUT THERE WILLING TO BUY FROM SCUM LIKE THIS IT WILL CONTINUE, AND THE LIFE OF HELL THESE POOR MITES AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS LIKE THEM WILL ALSO CONTINUE    ROO Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 Well I don't know much about toy breeds and terriers, so I can't tell if there's something minor.Umm, I'm probably just stupid, but why are the boston terriers blue-eyed, and why are some of them completely white? Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 If they had Akitas or Labs or a big breed then I would be able to tell, but I'm just not as experienced as you guys, so I guess I asked really stupid questions. Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 I just noticed something: Two of the blue heelers kind or look like rotties..or is it just my weird opinions? Quote

Most are registered with CKC (CONTINENTIAL Kennel Club -- they register anything, just send them your money, no proof needed!). If you ask for pedigrees, she gets really defensive. If you ask for show titles, she gets really defensive. If you ask to see the parents of the pups, they are usually -- "at the ranch working - if it's a Heeler", "at the groomer - if it's a small breed dog", some excuse that non-skilled people usually believe. I think they need some emails from EXPERIENCED dog people asking questions, and when the answers are of the slight or fraudulant nature --- than give them a piece of your mind! Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted September 28, 2002 Posted September 28, 2002 Well, I kinda want to email them but isn't it a bit aggressive?I mean, I'm only 12 and everything so maybe I'm overworrying, but are we supposed to be able to do that? Quote

Hobbit Posted September 28, 2002 Author Posted September 28, 2002 [quote name='eggrolyn1223']Well, I kinda want to email them but isn't it a bit aggressive?I mean, I'm only 12 and everything so maybe I'm overworrying, but are we supposed to be able to do that? Just because you are "ONLY 12" do not EVER think that you do not have an opinion, .... because you do. Do not EVER think that what you have to say doesn't matter, .... because IT DOES. A person, rather they want to admit it or not, learns something from everyone they come in contact with --- good or bad, they still learn something. You are valuable as a person and have an opinion. If you feel that you want to express your concern, then do so. If not, then that is okay, too (they listed their email address, so I think their practices are open for discussions and questions). Just remember, as you have your own opinion....so do they. Please don't ever think that just because you are young, that you have nothing of value to add to this world, ... because you do! Quote

Hobbit Posted October 5, 2002 Author Posted October 5, 2002 [quote name='Rowie-the-Pooh'] These 2 look like Rotties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o Hobbit, is it true that Heelers are born white then turn Blue ????????????!!!!!!!!!! Or is it just another bunch of crap? :x ANOTHER Q... Do they Dock heeler's tails....cuz the male DOES seem to have a docked tail...or am I imagining??????????? :-? Rowie, Yes --- Australian Cattle Dogs (ACD) are borned snow white, with the exception of facial markings (called masks) and body spotting (which is undesirable). They, the blue and red ACD's, start coloring out at about 3 wks of age and continue to do so for several weeks. Unfortunately, back yard breeders and people that are ignorant of the breed, dock tails. I would not even think of buying an ACD with a docked tail, to me --- this is a substandard, poor quality person that docks tails. And NO, you aren't imagining that the stud dogs tail is docked....it is and these people are substandard, poor quality people with substandard, poor quality dogs. They dock all the pups tails, too ---- themselves. WHY? In their email, they said, "because everyone wants their tail docked". YEP, I did express my opinion to be point that there was NO misunderstanding as to what I was talking about!! Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 Thanx Hobbit.... WOW! YOU KNOW ALOT ABOUT HEELERS! WOW! Again, thanx.... The docked tail thing..HORRIBLE! How could they?????????? I mean, ACD's are supposed to be Sheep herders right? THEY USE THEIR TAILS FOR THAT! :( Some ppl..................................................... :bad-words: JUST WANNA KILL'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanx Hobb....ANOTHER Q....sorry...but is black and Tan A real color...like the one's in the pix....or are they make believe colors?( i wouldn't be surprised if they WERE make believe colors!) Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 Have to add.... The Bosten Terriers are disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 And this Peke looks like she was 8 WEEKS old when she had these pups....And THIS IS THE MALE THEY USE FOR THIER BREDING? Guest Anonymous Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 OK...I figured out the rottie looking healer....they are rottie pups. If you look on the rottie page it's got the same pix. Probably on of their HONEST mistakes....on of their ONLY honest mistakes. Sitll don't under stand why the boston has a blue eye... Quote
Hobbit Posted October 7, 2002 Author Posted October 7, 2002 Rowie you lost me there for a minute about the black/tan coloration. Gigi's comments now make sense. Okay, ACD's come in only blue or red. The blues have the tan/rust highlights that come from the black/tan Kelpie. The Kelpie was the last cross that helped create the ACD of today. The blue is actually a mixture of black and white hairs that give it a blue appearance. Sometimes, the color can "wash" out or dilute into a light red (almost creme color). AND YES, the ACD uses it's tail as a rudder while working. They were originally "created" as a cattle dog (not a sheep dog). It is getting harder and harder to find an ACD with any natural ability left, since being inducted into the dark-side (AKA, the AKC), the show breeders have been busy breeding OUT their natural ability, --- breeding only for "looks" for the conformation class and NOT herdibility. ONLY recently, are some of the breeders actually breeding for the herding ring --- there may still be hope for the breed, afterall. Quote
bk_blue Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 Yeah, it is a damn shame. Heelers were born to WORK, not to look pretty (even though they are!!! ). They are thankfully still the dog of choice of almost every farmer in the country who don't give a rat's what it looks like, as long as it can do what it was born for- herd cattle! The prettiest heeler wouldn't stand a chance with a farmer if it couldn't perform... Fancy docking its tail!! That is disgusting. I am against it in any breed of dog, let alone in heelers who need it to do their job properly... Quote
