pet cremation cost ?

Interested in finding out what it cost to have your pet cremated through your veterinarian. Is there any pet insurance that you know of that covers this expense. Please let me know as i am working on a project for pet owners to be assisted with expenses at their time of grief. Any pet insurance companies interested in this topic? Is the cost of euthanisia also included in the cremation fee? Thank you for assisting me.

cremation costs in my neck of the woods is extravagent. If the vets arrange for the dog to be collected and the ashes returned to the surgery for the owners to collect the price raises by about

I think it depends on the size of the dog. When we paid for ALICE it included the tests,treatments ect. you just want to pay the bill and get out. at the time you do not care what you are paying too many emotions going around inside you :cry:

I couldn't agree more, you want your pet properly taken care of and the thought of them being slung in a bin liner and then into mass cremation dosn't seem the proper way for a wonderful partnership to end. So we don't think what is the cost going to be when our hearts are breaking. If you think about it they have us over a barrel, we will do all that we can for our dogs and face the bill later.

Most veterinarians around here (Michigan, USA) charge about $50 US dollors for euthanasia. All vets that I know of donate this money to the veterinary school from which they graduated, in memory of your pet. The vet school then sends you a letter. It is very comforting.

Cremation usually depends on the size of the dog, and if you want the ashes in an urn or just returned. One dog I just had returned, because I spread her ashes in her favorite lake. The other I had put in an oak box and sealed, she sits by my bed. This was awhile ago, but the cost was between $100-$150 US dollars.

I think if you trust your vet, they will not take advantage of you in your time of grief.

Cremation and a "funeral" is available here but I am unaware of the cost. But we are allowed to bury our dogs in the backyard. There are quite a few loved deceased pets at Grandad's house and I hate to think about when he eventually passes away (which had better be later than sooner!)and the new homeowners decide to do renovations... :o

I once buried a dog in my back yard. All these people were telling mw that there were laws on how deep the hole had to be and stuff. So here I am, already upset because my dog had died, just digging away. That hole was so deep, I think if they dug a basement in that spot they still wouldn't reach that dog, LOL.

Here in the Uk it's, apparently, against the law to lay your dog to rest in your garden! I did it once and it was awful when I moved from the property :( I now use a private crematoriam but having the cost covered by insurance would be a good idea; look at all the dog owners that have their pet insured and never make any claims. It would be nice if at the time of loss money didn't become the deciding factor in how their dog's body is delt with.
