Housetraining time..

How long does it take for a Lab to be housetrained?I mean, for the dog's bladder to be large enough to hold for about 4 hours?Duck is partially housetrained.The only problem is that she is too young and can't hold her bladder very long, only for about 40 or so minutes.Cuz she knows she's not supposed to pee in the house and always tries to hold it until we get outside, but sometimes we're just not quick enough, and she's left alone for about 4 hours each day, but she always pees onto the floor when shes in her cage.I'm not going to trust her to be free in a room by herself until she can hold, and I want to know about what age will she be able to do that?She's 8 weeks old right now.

She is just 8 weeks, :o how long have you had her?
Do not expect miracles to happen over night, she is still very much a tiny baby, if she can go foyr hours at 8 weeks she is doing really well.

Egg I would say the same as Roo if she is hold that long (1 hr) at 8 wks she is doing great! Give her time she will get it...About 10-15 minutes after water and food take her out... Write a schedule as to when you are going to take her out... Stick to it and she will do great... :wink:

She is doing well. When I first got Paddy AND Gladis when one of them cried to go out I would have to pick Paddy up and run for the door if I let him run he would drip all the way. It does not take long it just feels like it takes for ever :wink: :wink: :wink:
