plase help stop puppy mill!

can any one help i went to go look at some puppies monday and when i got there the puppies where very sick and where scared of every thing .
the pens they where in where no biger then a cats litter box ans they had german shepherds, newfoundlands ,boxers,alot of mixes and baby shih tzu puppies .most of the puppies already had cherry eyes and where bleeding from there noses. i tryed to get help from there vet and all they said was that where i live in iowa there is no animal shelters so they can't do any thing about it .i was so sad when i seen this it would make any one want to cry .the 2 women that where there said they see noting wrong with there kennel . so i took pictures of every thing And still no one will help .the vet said the best thing to do is get the word out about them so maybe if we take away there money they will stop breeding .i just wish there was something else i could do .if any one can help please let me know . :(

Contact the UNITED STATE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE - ANIMAL AND PLANT HEALTH INSPECTION SERVICE (APHIS), they are in charge of inspecting and licensing puppy mills. Stay after the USDA/APHIS to do thier job!

Just out of curiousity what part of Iowa... It seems the vet would help you and he/she should have some sort of pull... Start the petition (written) take it to the vet..if you got pictures get them developed and take them with you when you go to get the petition signed.. Start one on the internet also...

Hobbit, would the local police dept. not handle the local animal cruelty cases?? If the neglect is bad enough it would be considered cruelty!?!? :-?

i live in jones county and here they dont have an animal shelter the vet's around here are over runed with dogs&cats and the police are all to busy to help ,as a vet i can take the animals away from them but only half of them and the police around here are as stupid as it gets they wont do nothing .the only thing i can do it go there and take the animals that are sick enough to take .if i give you there names and kennel names can any of you get the word out ? that would help alot

thank you so much for your help .when i tryed to help the animals they got very upset and now they wont stop calling and yelling at me and my family .they even called the cops an me saying that i tryed to hurt there son ,i could not believe it .so who ever trys to help please be careful
they are crazy people .i have there phone numbers and addresses if you need them . and wendy likes to lie about alot of things to try not to give in to her S#%^ .

AGAIN --- contact the USDA/APHIS in conjuction with the local authorities, local Newspaper and TV news station.

Jacsmom: the local authorities should handle the animal cruelty case, but will they? Some departments just don't have the resources, time, care to, or knowledge to handle cases as such.

OK. I called the sherrifs dept and they said to call the humane society. Called them and they are familiar with these women. They need some more info from me in order to proceed....and I've PM'ed gsd_lover86 for that info....will keep you updated!!!!!!

WAIT...If these dogs are AKC or CKC or UKC or anything of that nature write the kennel club and tell them and take pictures and they will ban them from that particular club also!! :wink:

i called the aspca to see if they could help at all .they said they are going to .go to there kennel undercover to see what all they can find out .
also i called the a.k.c and they said they will not let then register any dogs in there names untill they have proof that they are not a puppy mill .
also i got a call from them when i was at work they ask me if i could keep my eyes out for a boxer female for them . then my coworker said that some one had brot in a dog and that they needed my help i went out to talk to the dog owner she said she had met with a lady named wendy andrews to get the dog .i ask how lonh she had had the dog she said only a month . the dog had very bad hip Dysplasia To where she could not walk useing her back legs at all .
