They kind of look like a Hungarian Puli, without the dreadlock-type coat, and are much smaller, 8.5-11.5 inches high.
They are the national dog of Cuba.
Queen Victoria owned two and Charles Dickens had one, beloved of his seven children and named Tim. So they were quite fashionable back in Victorian times.
