Guest Anonymous Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 I have come across the breed "Blue Paul" in a few Pitbull sites. Does anyone have any info on these dogs? Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 The Blue Paul is thought to be behind breeds like the pit bull & the am staff & maybe the staffordshire bull terrier. it was bred from the Irish blue (now known as the kerry blue). it was from Scotland. it stood about 20in & weighed about 45lb. Guest Anonymous Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 So technically does that mean that the APBT, AmStaff and Staffy is really the Scottish Pitbull Terrier, ScotsStaff and the Scotlandshire Bull Terrier? LOL  Quote
Bensam Posted September 11, 2002 Posted September 11, 2002 Reading the history of the 'Staffordshire in Australia' I came across a reference to 'Blue Paul'. Briefly it is - "1951 saw the arrival of John Sheward (Broomesquires) with three bitches Liz of Broomesquires, Jezebel of Broomesquires (both reds) and Arriet of Broomesquires, a Blue Paul as they were then called." Reading this I assumed it was a reference to color. In Guests reply they appear to be a different breed although a foundation of the Staff. Does anyone else have any info on this, it's always interesting to find out the origins of phrases. Quote
