Guest Anonymous Posted August 25, 2002 Posted August 25, 2002 (yes this is my second post, but I didn't want both topics in one lol) My dog likes to jump, alot! she jumps on anyone who backs away from her and anyone who walks towards her. If you are more that five inches away from her, she'll jump on you. I heard of this harness type thing, that straps around the back and then has a length of rope that is held behind the back legs. so when the dog tries to jump, it loses balance and is forced to put his front paws back on the ground. Is this a suitable way of training a dog not to jump? Quote

Teach her that 'sit' is the best way to ask for attention or a treat or petting. Using a painful harness is not going to teach her anything - you need to teach her what is right instead. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 26, 2002 Posted August 26, 2002 Hazel has this problem too, though usually the worst is after I let her off the lead in the morning. Otherwise she is very sneaky, she will wait untill you aren't paying attention and then she will pop up and kiss you on the nose... her aim is amazing! She loves to get my neighboor when she is gardening... just sneak in and kiss!!! Quote
corgilady Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Toffee sneaks and jumps up too, but twice my NOSE has been over his head.....ouch! Quote
