Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 OK guys, I know we've done this debate before but I need some advise today..... I'm taking my dogs off of Iams Lamb and Rice. I need to get a new brand today, so that they can be weaned off of what's left of the Iams. We have PetCo as our local pet store chain, and then all the WalMarts, Targets, etc. Now, my sister has compaired Iams to the WalMart brand Maxxium and she says they are very comparable and cheaper. I don't give a dog's poop about the cost, but can not do the BARF diet cuz we never have enough human food in the house (I hate the grocery store)! Any suggestions????????? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 And look at that! They sell it RIGHT NEXT TO MY HUSBAND'S WORK! Looks like he might have to do the shopping instead of me! Thanks! I think I'll have to give it a try! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Hubby is picking it up for me tonight!!!! I'll let ya know what they think! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Well, the store next to hubby's work doesn't carry it. POOP! But, I've got two other places in town where I can get it. I'm gonna get the little bag tonight and see what they think.... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 OK, it's time to kill the husband. I called to tell him NOT to pick up the dog food since the store doesn't carry it, and he gets in this HUGE huff about changing the food and why do you want to do that and why can't we just go to pet co and then hangs up on me. UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG               and all I wanted was to keep him from going into a store and getting mad cuz they didn't carry what I told him to go in for. Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Yeah, I was till my boss walked by...... I'm just soo confused. He thinks we spend too much the way it is....yet, he wont drive farther away to get it cheaper, I have to. I'm about up to HERE with him today. He's getting the cold shoulder tonight. He better be glad our dogs are inside dogs or he'd be sleeping out with them tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 No, he is just wound too darn tight! He needs to get on an antianxiety med, but wont....so instead he makes stuff up that he thinks I'm doing... OK, I'm sick right now and told him that it would be nice for him to pick up this new food since it's right next to his work. Then I call back to tell him NOT to pick it up since that branch doesn't carry it. All of a sudden I'm trying to make him feel guilty and want him to get it across town since I'm sick.. WHAT EVER. It was never mentioned or even hinted in my tone, let alone my words. Jack butt. Sorry. Wanted to call him something else... Quote
deepseasnake Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 hey we're not that bad....I can vouch, I am one 8) oh yeah give him a beer order a pizza and watch a good romantic movie like........lethal weapon. those movies really get me going good get the latest one where Mel gets on all fours and starts playing with the rott  oh thats good! or.......SNATCH holy cow thats what you should do watch snatch, then you get to see brad pitt and he gets to laugh his arse off (no subtitles though they ruin it) geez I'm gonna go watch a movie! and eat pizza :D see I feel better already thanx gigi Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 You are funny! No, he's called twice again only for me to tell him I am NOT discussing this with him anymore and then I give him fair warning, and then hang up. I've already decided I'm gonna spend my evening alone, in the bedroom, watching TV with my babies. He can spend his evening by himself. Selfish B@*#@#^ anyway. Sorry. He's really got me mad now. Besides, he already thinks the dogs eat better than we do. He doesn't understand that we CHOOSE to eat what we want. The dogs don't have that choice. :x :x :x :x :x Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 No/yes. He gets wound up about nothing....he was on Celexa (antidepressant/antianxiety) for his anxiety but quit taking it. He's a pretty easy going guy for the most part, just freaks out every now and then, which we are all entitled to do, I guess, but STILL! NOT WHEN I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!!!!! I'm making a Dr appointment for him........ Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Well, he forgets...then, when he starts up again, the first week is really bad....tired and stuff. Can't stay awake until his body adjusts to it. We've decided he needs to be on a med to take at night, not in the morning. He will admit he has a problem with both, and I know the depression part (which is minimal) is from his childhood...NOT good. The anxiety part is out of control. He worries way too much and really needs to get on something for it. He has Xanax, but that makes him tired too, and that's not a long term med, just for anxiety attacks. So, if he would go to the dr, get on a med to take at night so I can remind him, then things would be better. He's OK, he really is, but MAN did he make me mad today! Quote
Horsefeathers! Posted August 20, 2002 Posted August 20, 2002 Gigi!! Boy, do I have a deal for you! If you're having trouble finding Wellness nearby, you can take advantage of your local Target store. Guess what (gushing with excitement here)! Many Target stores carry Three Dog Bakery products! It's right up there with Wellness. I feed mine Wellness because I don't have a Target within 40 miles of me. Check for Three Dog Bakery foods. It's supposed to be good stuff... ingredient for ingredient, it's every bit as good as Wellness (according to my "research"). They have a kibble, too, but their entree is as close to home cooking for dogs as you can get. I would have no problem feeding this stuff to my own dogs if it were available to me a little closer by (and would gladly drive 40 miles for it if I didn't have the Wellness nearby). :D http://www.threedog.com/ <<<to check it out Quote
