"An autopsy revealed that the dog that killed Volkan had not eaten in three days and drugs were found in his body."

How can anyone in this situation blame the breed? Even a labradore would have done the same thing!

Its pure dogism (my new word for it), discriminating a dog just because of its breed. How could they?

We need to fight the root of the problem, not the result - kill the people training the dogs rather than the dogs themselves!!!!

I always considered something like this may happen, but I never dreamt that it actually would, and now!

Grrr, I'll shut up now, just getting frustrated.... :x

This breed ban came about in Germany (I believe) last year, and some other countries were quickly trying to follow suit. Hoping it doesn't come to the U.S. isn't going to do much, as it is taking place in the US in various states and counties. One of the reasons I'm always on my soapbox. You can't sit back and watch and wait. You have to keep pressuring these blockhead politicians and try to educate them a bit that we need stricter enforcement of laws already in place - leash laws, animal abuse (they always get a little fine and a slap on the wrists), etc. Everytime there's a dog attack story that makes the headlines, write or email your local radio, TV stations and the reporter who headlined it, and make them aware that they never ever question - where was the dog kept, why was it loose, what type of person owned it, why was the dog in a yard w/a litter of newborn pups, why does the dog have scars, why is the dog so emaciated looking, why aren't bloodtest run on the dogs when captured to see if there's a medical reason or if they've been fed all those nasty things or not fed at all. Believe me when breed specifc legislation comes into play, it can eventually lead to cover any breed.

Remember the animal rights folks are often behind the strict breed ban laws etc anything they can do to end animal ownership they will do inlcuding introducing laws about 'bad breeds' and 'bad breeders' which then can quickly be expanded to ban more and more until none are left.
Everything from dog bans to breeder punishment for having a litter to making a list of breeds that its cruel to breed due to their 'deformities' (their idea not mine) such as no toy dogs no giant breed dogs and pretty much nothing but a generic prick eared 30-40 pound dog called the Euro dog are among their attempts to end pet ownership.
Also Germany has different states and each one had different versions of the ban - so just like here what you read may not be quite all the truth. I know some German breeders and it doesn't seem to be bothering them how their individual state is handling the issue and apparently national law has to include state concensus from what I understand.

Well Germany is a great place personally, other then this. But the Holocaust was all because of Hitler. They dont even mention that time in school in Germany. Trust me my boyfriend grew up there. Germans are though to all be like Hitler, thats what I though and I was extremyl WRONG. They are the sweetest, I know alot of German people and none are like hitler.

But yes, I think they should punish the owners that do that.....I just thought I would show.

But please also dont say that countrie is a horrible place because they banned the pits...they have diffrent rules...just like we do. None of them are like Hitler, they are all addicted to Soccer......
