Old Dog New Tricks/ peeing on the floor

I just moved in with my boyfriend. He has a scottish terrier. It is very hard to like the dog when he is peeing all over the apartment. I am at my wits end. He is 3 years old and not neutered. He could be outside in the yard all day long, come inside and pee on the floor. My boyfriend has never disaplined him, and my disciplining him the old fashioned way isn't working. It's getting to the point where I just want to take him to the pound out of frustration. What can I do to remedy this, as to not hurt dog or owner? :-?

I agree with six, crate training saved me as well. Make sure none of the cleaners you use are amonia based... did this one my self

He was peeing on the floor before and his master never scolded him. He just cleaned it up and let it go. He pees in the same spot over and over. I tried the taking away the water at a certain time, but all of last night he was whining. I have been there for about 3 weeks or more, I would only assume he's gotten used to me by now. And he gets ample attention from his daddy, believe me I'm not there until later on in the evening so there's a good 5 hours they have together. I wouldn't even know where to begin with crate training either. I got next to no sleep last night. My boyfriend decided that we have to get him fixed so maybe that'll help. I don't want to hurt little Lancer, but disipline doesn't work either, now he's running around the house and it scares me because he looks like he's going to naw off one of his paws, and he's constantly wiping his snout on everything.

I finally decided to register how about that... Well the thing with the vet is...I don't think my boyfriend has even taken him to a vet since he got him. :o maybe it's an overactive bladder?
