deepseasnake Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 I have been reading up on boxers and have found some weird things relating to life expectancy some have said up to 15 years but a few say it caps off at 8 due to the size of their skull and ever expanding brain? can anyone clear this up for me? :-? Smooshie Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 Its true that Boxers aren't a breed that's KNOWN for longevity, and they are subject to quite a few health problems, however due to more responsible breeding...and with proper care and good nutrition,it seems their lifespan is increasing......I've known quite a few Boxers who have lived well into their teens. Most current publications post their lifespan as 10-14 yrs now...rather than 8-10. Quote
Smooshie Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 Oh...btw, did you receive the Private message I sent you regarding the American Bulldog? I'm not sure if it went thru... :) Quote
deepseasnake Posted August 2, 2002 Author Posted August 2, 2002 yeah smooshie I'm reading it right now thank you very much. FYI an old neighbor of mine had a boxer and it was the first I'd ever seen, his name was otto and he was the size of a HORSE since, I've always loved the breed but living situations and other misc. problems prohibited me from owning one but I regaurd boxers as the maybe the best dog out there. Guest Anonymous Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 Hey deep, welcom to the forum... nice to see another washintonian about... or is that warshintonian? I think boxers are great too... a little hyper, but great! (and this comming from an aussie owner!) Just curious if you plan on paying bills after feeding all those dogs! All in all when you find them post some pics! I have never seen a neapolean mastiff... Quote
deepseasnake Posted August 2, 2002 Author Posted August 2, 2002 hey thats great I was wondering if there was anyone from our neck of the woods on this thing. (washintonian) :D yeah I know what you mean about paying for all that food but you'd be suprised how much large constrictor snakes cost in comparison to dogs even a large dog with health problems are cheaper to have. I think my snakes (3 boas 1 king) eat about 4 times as much $ as my 3 dogs do. by the way I'm a commercial diver who specializes in underwater construction (welding, rigging....on and on) so when the money comes in it flows, when it stops it STOPS but all in all my 12 pets are happy and manage to get special treatment almost every day well I'm of to a quick 3 day trip to our washington rainforest see you all on monday :D Quote
