Evil thats a good one. Didn't think of that one, but evil is tht truth.

I thought it looked like it might be fake, but fake or not its crazy. How would that dog eat or drink? Poor dog....If thats true its kinda sad. Dont ya think if it was true the vet would try to reduce the size of it or something? or can you operate on a tongue? I'm not a vet I don't know!!

Yes it's real... I saw this dog on tv and it was drinking from a glass, but it was rather messy. I wonder how this came to be... was it intentional?

I think if it were my dog I would try to get it reduced. I hope they are not only letting the dog go on like there for the publicity of it all. Thats sad. The dog looks happy, but you know that has to be a little bothersome!

Thanks, it's supposed to be for local dogs so it has to be in spanish, but I will have a section for out-of-town dogs so if you guys want to send me a real nice pic of your dog, it will be featured...

Nice web page stiff! It is so funny that this forum was posted. My boyfriend and I are always making fun of Rocky's tongue. It's big, but it's not as big as the one's in the pictures. Maybe it's a genetic disorder for boxers. Rocky is part boxer, so that would explain it all. We know when he is licking the puppy, cuz we can hear his tongue slapping away in the other room!!!!

I just have to say it again.....I couldn't let my dog live like that. It has to make things harder, its actually sad...oh well I can't do anything about it

I'd be afraid that the poor dog would choke on it!

at first it was a little funny to see that dog, but the more I think about it the more I want to speak to the owners. I would love to ask them why they haven't done something. No amount of money or publicity is worth putting an animal through that. It's just not right. oh well.....

Stiff- you said you were gonna include out of town dogs.....purebreed pits or do I count here? had to ask.

Quite honestly, I can't see whats so cruel about it! The dog was born that way, it knows nothing different. It looks happy and very healthy, keeping in mind that the photos are taken of the dog panting, all dogs toungs are remarkably longer when they pant! To have an operation would only cause unnecissary pain and stress, pluss the poor dog wouldn't be able to eat! Could you imagine someone chopping half of your toungue off?
The only cruel thing those owners have done to their dog is hack half its ears off!!!

How do you not see this a a little cruel? You don't seriously believe that that toungue doesn't get in the way. I wonder how many times that dog has bitten its toungue? With a toungue that large it has to be hard to eat and drink. Try to imagine you eating and drinkng with a toungue that large, then think how much harder it would be without hands! If it were my dog it would have had an operation by now. It would have made life alot easier on the dog. But opinions are opinions and everyone has one.

It was born that way, I am sure it is used to it. I have my toungue peirced, I got used to it and now its like its not there. I'm sure the dog is used to it and an operation would only cause it unnessissarry (i cant spell :P ) pain and stress.
Besides, I'm not sure it would be something any vet would be qualified to do, the toungue is a muscle and to operate would be a hard task! Not to mention the poor dog would have relearn to drink after, plus the risk of the dog dying in such an unpracticed operation.
