Shannon_C Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 Hi Julie. Just recently my Bullmastiff got this problem which tends to be gunged either in the corners or across his one eye, however i haven't thought it necessary enough to take him to the vet..because when i have cleaned them, they are back to normal again. I find this only happens when he as woken from his nap, so im thinking it could be sleep! However a friend as been told that his Bullmastiff as (DRY EYE) which means his tear ducts aren't producing enough fluid to keep his eyes moist so they get quite gooey! Hes on eye drops in the morning and a lubricant in the evening and so far it seems to be doing the trick, but he'll have to have this treatment the rest of his life....just like my dog as to have his ears cleaned for the rest of his!
