GizmoRedNosePit Posted July 21, 2002 Posted July 21, 2002 The Terrible Ten Keep in mind these comments apply in general terms and are not necessarily true of a specific dog. Individual dogs of even the most notorious breeds can be friendly, lovable, family companions. Each dog is an individual, whose personality and temperament are a product of its breeding, training, and environment. Neutering a dog who will not be shown in the conformation ring is recommended for any breed, but is strongly recommended for the following breeds. Pit Bull <-- Grrrrrr  Rottweiler German Shepherd Siberian Husky Alaskan Malamute Doberman Pinscher Chow Chow Great Dane Saint Bernard Akita This is from this website : http://www.virtualimpax.com/klhh/28931.htm Quote
Aroura Posted July 21, 2002 Posted July 21, 2002 Could have guest most of them myself, but Great Dane , Saint Bernard and Akita??? Whats wrong with them? I thought they had good reputations! Guess I'm a little Akita bias, seeing as I used to walk one and know an Akita breeder. And I thought German Shephards were listed as one of the 'most perfect' breeds? Hmm, I wonder who came up with these statistics, although I do have to give whoever named the boxer as one of the most perfect (if not the most perfect) credit for knowing their boxers! :P Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 I think this list is really stupid. I mean come on a Saint Bernard? The only dogs I heard about in the news are the Pit Bull and the Rottweiler and thats because they are the " violent breed" and "do more harm then good"  (thats not what I think) I think the people who are againist these dogs dont realize that its the owner whos responsible on how that dog turns out, not the dog it self. I own 2 rottweilers and I have not once had a problem with them. Only if people would educate themselves about the breed. The Rott for example was used for many things, mainly for a working dog. They helped the farmer bring in their livestock to the butcher and also pulled carts with goods on it. Anyhow thats my 2 cents. Amy 2 spoiled girls. Sasha and Kodee. Rottweilers of Minnesota :D Quote
