What I think is it comes down to the owner and how they bring the dog up. I loved Petey in Lil' Rascals and when I found out his breed I couldn't believe it!! My wife loves them even though we can't get a pet in the apt. She says they're sweet "Mushe's" if you raise them right, I agree.

However I HAVE heard that they are "Aggressive" towards other dogs and that I believe. If a Lab is in the vets office with other dogs they are nervous but most of the time friendly. Pitbull's have THAT tendency to be aggressive, it's not their fault, their good dogs it's just that I think you have to really have to be a DOG OWNER and a WATCHER of this breed around strangers and especially OTHER dogs, am I right here?
They don't deserve a bad name though! They need Good and Decent people to own them, thats the problem today! Too many "Urban Jungle" settings if you get the picture? They're portrayed as vicious cause unfortunately MOST of the time you see the Degenerate Owner's on T.V. getting into trouble.
Their good dogs though I think. Short and muscular, their the perfect dog if you want a medium sized build but enough to wrestle with and play like a Rotty or a Sheperd.

I still have to cast my vote...but I just wanted to say one other thing. I have do disagree with Cepter when he/she said that Pit Bulls are dog agressive. While it may be true for some, that is totally not the case with my two. Whenever we got to the vet or take a walk, if they see other dogs they go up to them and start kissing them like crazy. They are extremely friendly with other dogs. I think it all boils down to whether or not they have been exposed to other dogs while growing up. Both of my dogs have always been brought up around other dogs, whether it be in obedience classes or just fooling around with the neighbors' dogs. Socialization is so important! Cats on the other hand..I'm not so sure how my two dogs would react to a cat since they weren't brought up with any.

Anyone that is experienced with dogs or dog training would vote 'NO'. He did have a point at the end of the story that is true 'anyone with a dog should have a fence'.
I love to have Onyx with me outside when i water the trees and bushes but he is always on a retractable 16' leash. You cant fault him for being scared of Pits or any other dogs that he has had a bad experience with. Also, some people are just scared of all large dogs.
Its is up to us to show a better example of the breed and to put the responsiblity on the owners for not socializing their Pit with other dogs.

A fence is necessary for any house I think! Allways have a fence....Especially with a dog... But if you love your dog, if you socialize your dog, if you train your dog, if you fix your dog, everything should be fine! No Problems if you dont let them start from the begging!!

NOOOOO!
However I feel that the voting on the poll page about Pitbull's I cannot answer because it can be both. Bad owners and bad breeds.

Yeah, cool- but we gotta keep it up! Get your friends to vote and anyone else you can grab! Remember- the DOG-HATERS-R-US forum could get hold of this any day now and then...!!

Please, please vote no even if you think this doesn't involve you. Remember, its the pitbull today, the dobermann or the rottweiler or even the GSD tomorrow... and so on and so on. Once people start to think of dogs in terms of just 'breed' rather than the individual then the future is bleak for all dog lovers and owners- some dogs are always going to be owned by cruel, ignorant and/or irresponsible owners and if the behaviour of these unfortunate few is enough to tarr the reputation of all other dogs of their type.. the innocent majority will suffer. Condemn one, condemn them all :(

VOTE NO!!
