avaloniaboerboele Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Just got connected to this site after it crashed for the umteenth time  The post about the muzzle is locked and i cant reply to it - not fair since ive totally been humiliated and name-tagged by rubbish rude guest. THIS IS AS FAR AS IM GOING TO TAKE IT - MODERATORS, YOU CANNOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO GO THIS FAR WITHOUT ANY REASON !!!! Newfiemom, youre right, i may have been rude or could have worded my replies better or totally ignored guest. But then again i will not let anybody insult me, degrade my character with sarcastic, snotty, asuming, fortune telling, insulting, name - tagging remarks. IF I AM A PUPPY MILL, RACIST, DOG HATER ETC. IN YOUR EYES, GUEST, SO BE IT! IM PROUD OF WHAT IM DOING, THE DOGS IM BREEDING (AS WELL AS THE PURPOSE THEY WERE BRED FOR), THE AMOUNT OF DOGS IM BREEDING ETC. ETC. The fact that youre turning this whole debacle which you started into a disgusting below the belt warzone makes me wonder what your intentions are? Is it your mission in life to nail me? What do you want from me? I have photos on a website to show my dogs off - not to point out how neglected they are. But then again you CAN see more into photos than anybody else on this planet. Why dont you jump into an aeroplane and come visit me and make it your mission in life to save my dogs from their cruel owner!! Ive said in my posts that Boerboels were bred to protect our forefathers against attacks from wild animals - so in fact youre replying that black people are wild animals. Very clever and tactical - you face the angry crowd!!!!!!!! SO TO CONCLUDE: MY DOGS MAKE ME FEEL MACHO, YES THEY ARE BIG,I AM A PUPPY MILL, MY DOGS ARE NEGLECTED,I AM A RACIST, MAKING A MILLION BUCKS AND...............WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT???? ..l.. LEAVE ME ALONE Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 When you posted your post on pups from time to time I jumped all over you. And I have jumped all over people for being rude then I was rude to you. I am sorry if I have ever offened you in any way. I think your dogs are beautiful and kingly. I am glad that you enjoy breeding as for when I get older I am going to start breeding and I would hate for anybody to be rude to me about my breeding.. so I know I am not guest but I just wanted to say sorry. I hope that if you get to the stage of being a breeder you will be an ethical responsible one and not one that is raising dogs in outdoor pens from too young and too frequently bred dogs in order to make money off of your product. Even if you manage to become an ethical breeder be assured there are people who will be rude about you daring to breed or loving your breed over the pets in shelters and be prepared for it. The animal rights movement in this country is working very hard to make it impossible to be a responsible breeder of any kind with the ultimate goal of no pets for anyone. The actions of the irresponsible breeders gives them tremendous support for making the words 'dog breeder' mean 'evil person' in the minds of JQP. Learn all you can about being a responsible breeder and be wary of who you emulate and keep an eye on the animal rights movements as it may well be your generation who will face the most difficult times in the world of purebred dog breeding. Guest Anonymous Posted July 18, 2002 Posted July 18, 2002 I will not keep my pups outside. But that is the way he breeds. I will do my best to breed and to make the breed itself better. I will do everything possible to produce grand pups. With as little health proublems as possible. As for avaloniaboerboele instead of being rude to him maybe we should provide him with tips on how WE think HE should be breeding. But he feels that what he is doing is fine...and we personally have not seen his "kennels" or whatever so lets try not to judge. Quote
avaloniaboerboele Posted July 19, 2002 Author Posted July 19, 2002 I think the best thing in life i decided to do was to breed with dogs. I like Bulldogs and all big dog breeds, but one day saw a Boerboel and was hooked immediately.Their temperament just stands out above the rest. They are very intimidating because of their size and musculinity, but once you get to know them, they are extremely controllable.I have 12 dogs currently, none of them officially trained, but you must see how they can be controlled!!!!! I just call them by their name and they listen and obey. They also tend to learn from each other (good and bad things!) and that shows their extreme intelligence. As my children were getting big and did not need so much attention anymore, me and wife decided on the dog breeding. They are children to us. You must have a passion for animals to do this. Helping to catch the pups of a female who is scared and inexperienced, stressing about sick dogs and unknown buyers and playing your lungs out with them is all part of the deal and you must face it with an open mind.It is very, very hard work with big breed dogs. You have to decide how you want to do your thing after considering what other experienced breeders had done. Use your own intelligence and combine that with other proven facts to do your own thing. That what is important - uniqueness - so in the end youd be able to stand back and say -darn, ive done well!!! As for advice and comments from other people - listen to it, even if you dont agree, and process it for a while before discarding because their might be some truth in it. You will have many personal ideas as how to run your program and if somebody disagrees with it, it doesnt mean your idea is wrong, its a personal opinion and more than one way is right. As you gain experience with time decisionmaking will become easier and you will then know what is wrong or right to do with your dogs. Then nobody can and will sit on your head because you know what is need to know. Hope ive helped a bit Beagle. Quote

But he feels that what he is doing is fine...and we personally have not seen his "kennels" or whatever so lets try not to judge. Actually I was totally ignoring the rude person who started this particular topic which I had no intention of responding to and simply responding to your post on your desire to become a breeder. I judge other breeders with a pretty hard set of rules because I also do rescue and do not just breed and show. I judge them harshly because I see all too frequently the results of callous breeding, improper homing of dogs, and dogs that are not raised properly to become pets in a home. I cannot close my eyes to it simply because the person tries to have a genial presentation for themselves. Some of the most pleasant people you will meet are puppy millers - they are excellent and friendly and oh so kind sales people. I know this because I have visited in person and on the phone with real millers in the course of rescuing members of my favorite breed. Its a real eye opener to discover how pleasant the people can be while trying to get money out of your pocket and into theirs. A puppy raised outdoors in a pen misses learning about all the things in a home that it should know - everything from walking on linoleum and rugs to hearing a washing machine or television or radio to smelling dinner cooking and learning about doors and on and on. I know in your breed there are many breeders who raise outdoor kennels full of beagles - I think that does not give pups destined to become companions the best start in life at all. I think if one is having a litter of pups destined to become companion animals they should be raised in the house with the people they live with. I think that because I have spent hours and hours of training time with dogs who did not get that kind of start in life. Its so sad to see a dog terrified to step on a linoleum floor or a rug! I was serious about the AR folks too - its absolutely scary how they are taking money contributed by people who think they are helping pets and getting anti breed and anti breeder laws passed. Quote

Anything you take from my posts as being pointed at you only indicates that you feel you are similar in some way to the people I am speaking about. As far as I can tell you do not raise beagles which is what I was speaking about with the beagle owner while outlining some of the things that are likely here in the US. As for rudeness - IMO the very title of this topic was rude and intentionally inflamatory. Why the moderators choose to let you get away with such behavior is beyond me. Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted July 21, 2002 Posted July 21, 2002 [quote name='"K"']IMO = in my opinion? right? Avalonia ..you know you run your kennels and your business snip praise of amiller quote] I find it amazing (as in astonishing) anyone thinks that a person who breeds underage bitches in a giant breed is a good breeder. I also think its extremely sad that you think 'dog breeding' and 'business' are synonyms. Shows that you have no contact with ethical breeders or responsible ones as well as no desire to know what ethics and responsibility in breeding dogs means  I suppose people who only know puppy millers will be thinking that of course this breeder is a good one - after all they breed just like all the other mills for profits made from underage dogs bred only to make pups for sale. I also find it amazing (as in astonishing) that you will call someone a farmer/miller, this is slander. Everycountry has rules on breeding and registering litters, each country has different codes of ethics. I myself have breed giant breeds, i do not breed from young bitches, but that is my choice and my morals and ethics, that is down to me. If someone breeds their dogs young and are not breaking any kennel club rules, then that is their choice, their morals and their ethics, it is down to them. As i have said before you really can not go round calling people things that you have no proof of, yes you have your morals and ethics, and yes i have mine. but slander is really not on. Roo Quote
