Guest Anonymous Posted July 10, 2002 Posted July 10, 2002 :o I just got emailed today about an Akita in New Jersey in Double Urgent NEED!!! Sadie is a 4yr female Akita who lost her master in the 9-11 WTC disaster. His wife had Sadie kenneled 3 months ago and has since decided to have Sadie put to sleep on MONDAY 7/15/02 unless interest is shown in her. She has lived with a male Akita and the husband, wife and a child before the tragedy happened. As all other rescue, I am full and cannot take her (however I could hold her a week or two max if she definitely had a place to go afterward). If anyone knows someone who can save this poor girl's life, please email me ASAP. Thanks again! Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted July 10, 2002 Posted July 10, 2002 K napisaĆ(a):She said "As all other rescue, I am full and cannot take her".... maybe your links will help..but time is running out...so sorry I am too far away to help :( good luck Breed specific rescues often have preapproved applicants waiting for the right dog to show up plus a network of foster homes knowledgeable about the breed etc Many rescuers have no idea breed specific rescues are available to help them with purebred dogs. I'll add another possible help method - if the dog is purebred and purchased from a responsible breeder the breeder will likely take the dog back to rehome themselves! Often people don't even think to contact the breeder! Heck running an ad in the paper if the dog is actually a decent temperament one and screening applicants for her might well work - thats a cheap way to help a rescue if anyone is looking for a way to help - run an ad and do some preliminary phone screening for an available animal. Guest Anonymous Posted July 12, 2002 Posted July 12, 2002 I would suggest putting an ad in the paper, or look around for a rescue. try www.petfinder.org and type in your zip code or city and it should show rescues. Ask all of your friends! Save the puppy! (or dog..) Please tell us how it works out. (no bad news please!) no really, tell us!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Louis Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 This was yesterday, I would really like to now if this dog survived... :( Quote
