 I was deeply touched by a story on Animal Planet's "Wild Rescue" tonight. It was about the Satos. The Mixed breed street dogs of Puerto Rica. These dogs die from mange, desease, hit by cars, abuse, hunger, and much much more!
But thankfully, there is an organization called "Save a Sato!" Please check it out! www.saveasato.org/
I'm only 15! I'm trying to help best I can, I live in Canada! Far away from these poor dogs, but I'm still trying to help by telling everyone I can find who love dogs, about these dogs under these poor conditions.
Please help!

I think the best thing that could be done for these dogs is a massive spay neuter effort to sterilize all the feral dogs along with humanely euthanizing the sick ones.
I really hate it that shelters here in the US are killing dogs daily and then bringing in these dogs from outside of their area in order to have a nice media story and adopt them out instead of the dogs born there.
I've even seen people offering 'rare sato pups' and 'sato mix pups' for sale since the adopt a sato program started up in my area.

Oh geez, well Save a Sato is trying to save THOSE dogs, not advertise that their rare dogs. Their trying to save these dogs.
Yes, I agree about the spaying and neutering, and they have sadly put to sleep dogs that they couldn't save.
But did you see the before and after pics on that site? WOW! Its amazing that those dogs were able to live, just like a normal house pet here in Canada, and even the States.
Education towards the people there is a big key too, to tell them that these dogs feel as well.

But why not adopt any of the thousands of dogs scheduled to die in NJ shelters instead of one from outside of her area?
