Peng1zrule Posted June 25, 2002 Posted June 25, 2002 gagging? or a kind of gasping? flat faced breeds suffer from problems...I have a shih mix and she (after wearing a collar, she pulls at her throat) will seem to have a kind of asthma attack. I press on her trachea and keep her calm to restore her breathing. if you can, record the sound. if you can't, learn to imitate it and do so for the vet to determine the cause of it. ask about a conditon called a "collapsing trachea" which flat faced dogs suffer from quite alot. An infestation of Round worms can cause a pup/dog to gag because they are crawling up the esophagus. Quote
