with or without tails

I have 2 retired Greyhounds and I know for a fact that they need their tails for balance.... the same way a cheetah uses his/hers.
We go to a baseball field that is enclosed and let them loose! You can watch them use their tails for balance as they turn corners.

One of my hounds came to me with a case of happy tail, we thought we had it under control for the first year and a half, but then one day she popped a vein and it wouldn't stop bleeding. We ended up amputating about 6" of her tail. It healed up fine, but does look a little silly.

Both of the dogs are trained as my mobility service dogs, they have made my life so much easier and our family complete.

I really enjoyed your site and loved the pics of your dogs. Drew sure is lean. Pinky, Drew & Little Bits are all so beautiful.

Wonderful site and glad to know that these dogs have a 'place after the race'! I find it amazing to know that they became service dogs for you!! :D

snip nice story

Thing is if they had not lived their whole lives with their tails you don't know whether they would act just the same or not.
I suspect its like with naturally docked breeds - if the pup grows up without one it doesn't miss it.
