Guest Anonymous Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 MY dog has bleeding gums and is vomiting quite a few times. I am taking her to the vets but are these symptons classic of any kind of problem? Can they be related to spaying or false pregnacys? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 I don't see an association to false pregancy or spaying at all. Bleeding gums are generally just that....indicating the dog has a large built up of tarter....same as with people. The gums can now be infected and perhaps some of the bacteria has ended up in the dog's stomach which is infected. This can be very serious. At the very least, the dog can lose his teeth. Quote
Guest roo Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Axel It could be a number of things, has she been stung or eaten anything iffy, poisons etc, please let us know what the vet says. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 It isnt tatar as she has very clean and white teeth. She could have eaten one of the birds my cat has caught. She seems a million times better today but still wont eat. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Is she drinking any water? Is she still vomiting? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 20, 2002 Posted June 20, 2002 No vomit anymore, no eating, drinking water and eating loads of grass. Actually yesterday she began to eat a tiny bit. We think she may be conning us as the vet said she was fine! I think she is eating her dried food because she is so hungry (she ate about 12pieces) so if we keep on offering that and nothing else hopefully she will get the picture! I worry that she is so stubborn that she can make herself ill but golden retrievers are renowned for stubborness. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 20, 2002 Posted June 20, 2002 Sounds as if something has upset her stomach. As long as she is drinking you should be okay!! Glad to hear she is doing better!! :D As for stubborn I can not speak for a Golden R. but I know my Lab tends to be!! :P  Quote
