Guest Anonymous Posted June 2, 2002 Posted June 2, 2002 :( I am the owner of a 12 year old dalmation who is loosing the use of her back legs. She falls down more frequently now and CAN NOT go up and down stairs. We have to pick her up to put her in the car or on our bed. Misty is in very good health otherwise. In the past, I have heard about a man who made a cart for his crippled dog. This is something I have really thought about, but I have some questions. If anyone knows of this man, or where I can get one of these doggie wheel chairs, I'd really appreciate knowing. I would really hate to have to put her down because she can't walk. She deserves so much more. Thanks for any help you can give. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted June 3, 2002 Posted June 3, 2002 I believe your vet should be able to give you the information about a cart. I know what you are talking about... I would assume that some measuring would be involved to make sure there is no additional pressure put on the dogs back. Also, if you haven't already done so, you micht want to make an appointment with your vet to see about a back problem, piched nerve or slipped disk... Hope your pooch get better. Quote

I saw a show on animal planet and there were 2 dogs on wheelchairs and looked very happy. There is a dog near my town who had to have his front and back hind legs amputated and lived a very happy life. Have you taken her to the vet? they will proboly know of a way to help her. Dont give up on her. Quote
