Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on BC's and fitting into a family if they are well socialised and trained?

I have one great dog who is very well behaved and very high energy and i think she would benefit from a companion but i am concerned about jealous aggression. My dog is not aggressive or jealous but i am worried that a new puppy may be. How would i stop this from happening?

Also my cat get jealous of dog playing with my current dog how do i stop her from swiping at them. She loves dogs whenmy dog is not around and she is very attached and goes everywhere with the dog even on walks and in the same bed!

I am also worried about collies with kids and how one would react. We have no young children living with us and no under 5's visit but i have heard of dogs biting children if their owner is giving the child to much attention. How owuld a BC react to this and children over 5 do visit and one of them is already nervous of dogs?

Thankyou for any respone!

My suggestion would be to go opposite sex on the second dog to make a more smooth relationship possible between the two.
IMO the best dogs with kids are well trained and well socialized ones.
Herding dogs may try and herd children and other moving objects :-)
As for 'jealousy' seems like your cat has the corner on that problem!
