Jack Russell Problems

I have a little Jack Russell Terrier that is just a terror sometimes. Whenever someone comes to the door, she nips and bites at my other dog. Whenever I pet the other dog, or the other dog gets up on the couch with me, she stands about 2 inches away from the other dog and circles her, biting and nipping now and then. The worst thing is whenever I play around with my other dog, the Jack Russell gets mad at attacks my other dog, starting a fight. My other dog doesn't fight back, she just growls back. She usually just tries to run and hide because this little jack russell that thinks she's a rottweiler has a hold of her ear and is shaking back and forth vigoriously with it in her mouth. Many times she's made my other dogs ears bleed she bites so hard. It's not playing, because it's loud when they fight.

To put it bluntly... Your JRT is jealous... Do they both get the same time spent together and seperate with you?

Yes the Jack Russell is intensly Spoiled as she is not "MY" dog she's my husbands. He treats her like a little person. The other dog.. would be my dog. She's the one getting attacked (she's a golden retriever).

That is why. The JRT is getting TOO spoiled.... When you want to pet the golden, tie the JRT with a leash just out of reach... Then pet the golden... Make the JRT wait until YOU decide to aknowledge him. If he barks, whines, snaps, or anything like that, ignore him.. Continue petting the other dog. Do not look at the JRT if he is being obnoxious... When he calms down, then go to him and praise him for sitting quietly. Make sure he sees you feeding, playing with, and petting the golden. After a while he should get used to sitting back quietly, without disturbances, whilst you are playing with your other dog.
