Guest Anonymous Posted February 1, 2002 Posted February 1, 2002 I worked with one for about 6 weeks when I first started volunteering at my local animal shelter back in '90. She had been kept in a basement by her owner and was petrified of everything, I literally started her rehab by just sitting in her run talking to her for the first two weeks she was there. She was adopted after having only spent 6 weeks at the shelter - she was the sweetest dog you'd ever want to own/meet. My experience with the breed is only with that one dog. My lasting impression is one that consists of not only fond memories of her, but also of the breed itself. Do more research, http://akc.org will put you in touch with breeders and breed rescue. Quote
