Hello everyone!!Sorry if this is a little long winded and hard to read but Im a little upset at the moment!!
I live in a rural area where almost all of my neighbours have dogs, which all play together and get along.A couple of months ago a new couple moved in next door with two dobermans.A person who lives down the road previously lived near these people and new of a time when one of these dogs mauled a blue cattle dog and killed it.
Of course we were a little worried to hear this,as the property he lives on now has no fence, but we havent really had any trouble with them(except they bark continuously when the owners are not there)as the owner ties both of them up all day(which I do not agree with). This was until the other day when the doberman which killed the other dog got lose, luckily my dogs were inside and nothing happened.
The people that live on the other side of the dobermans are very good friends of ours, love our dogs and their boxer x loves to play with our dogs,so my staffy's (Abbey and Bruno, both females) had gone on a 'play date' and were hanging out with them swimming in their damn and having a great time.Anyway these people were walking Abbey and Bruno back home when the doberman which had killed the other dog came rushing out and started attacking Abbey, their dog joined in then and so did Bruno and the other doberman. The doberman went for Abbey's throat and of course the people were terrified as they tried to help my babies.
It turns out the doberman had a muzzel on,as she had gotten lose a few days before as well,so the owner put the muzzel on it as a precaution.
Hearing all the commontion I rushed outside and of course I was completely angry and irrational as I thought my baby was going to die.But I think I handled the situation very well as all I said to the dobermans owner was that the r.s.p.c.a should be called to make sure a fence would be put up so that they couldn't get out.
Now this man's a a little crazy but I nearly broke down when he said to me "If you do that I might make sure your dogs dissapear.'
My husband was called then and a war of words errupted but Im still terrified to leave my dogs. They are definately house dogs and spend most time with the family inside. But when we're not at home (which is about 3-4 hours a day )both of them are left in a fenced 4 acre yard because they cant be trusted inside. But now cant leave them alone because Im so scared he'll do something.
