Well, I gave her some Friday night and Sat morning. She vomited a little Sat morning but she ate and didn't get sick Sat night or since. Guess it was just a little stomache bug. She's back to little fiesty self. :)

Missy threw up her dinner last night, so this morning I gave her some boiled hamburg and rice and she threw that up. I then read where you should not feed them for 24 hrs to let their stomache settle down and give them Pepto and then start them on hamburg and rice. She just threw up a little bile a short time ago. Her stool was fine this morning and she is drinking water. She even was playful this afternoon. Missy is a 10 lb shih tzu. How much pepto and how often should I give it to her?

No dogs should be off leash. I have two small ones and they are always on leashes. They aren't fully trained, they are only 5 & 3 months old, so they get a little excited when they see people who want to pet them. They will sit and stay for 10-15 seconds and then they start getting jumpy. So we are working on that. I have a neighbor who has two large dogs, who has a fenced in yard and they bark at you and run at the fence as your walking by. I can handle that but sometimes she lets them run loose and I was walking Missy and one of them came charging at us, I had to reach down and grab Missy up into my arms and the lady just ignored it and kept working on her flowers. In our city, we have a leash law, dogs have to have a rabies tag and license tag which is registered at city hall on at all times. My dogs are also microchipped. They cracked down on the laws a few years ago because there were dogs running loose everywhere, people and kids getting bit. Dogs being put down because of them not knowing if they had rabies. So it's much better now but every once in a while you will run into a loose dog with no tags. At least the tags jingling give you a warning that a dogs in the area.

I was a big dog person growing up, we had a GSD & black lab. Didn't know how people could have little dogs that yapped all the time...LOL Then a few years ago I met a few people with little dogs and they were so cute and fun to watch play. I live in small finished basement of my friends house and it wouldn't be fair to have big dogs. Not enough room and a very small yard, more like a patio really. So when I decided I was ready to have pets again I went for the small breed. I love them now! But two is my limit!! :lol:
