  1. yikes Andrea thats not good at all. I'm glad that Dj is ok and good for X calling 911. That is ridiculous that they wouldn't come in. When they called the paramedics for me, the fire guys came first and very fast and my friends didn't have enough time to lock up the dogs. Meghann the biggest Sheltie went crazy when the paramedics came and tried to bite at them and wouldn't get off me. Everyone says it was like a mad house! :o Even with Meg lying across me, the paramedics still climbed up on the bed to get to me and give me emergency aid. I agree you should write a letter and voice your feelings.
  2. aww Leah, I'm sorry to hear all your pups have kennel cough. You have the right advice from everyone and giving the robbitussin is the best thing Hope they get better soon
  3. Pooh Bear has done so well with you JM. He couldn't have found a better forever home :D
  4. Brill news that Sasha is ok and yayyyyyyyyy for only a couple of days until you get Baxter boy! :D
  5. I watched some of it! Some very nice dogs there and good to see a variety of breeds, but one thing I did notice was that handling skills were not very advanced for that level of competition. Silly mistakes were made by the handler in their body language and one Border collie with a guy missed the last jump and did a run-by because the handler called the dog and curved his body away from the jump because he had the finish line in sight. Real shame because the wee dog was blazingly accurate! Also some handlers were hesitant on their belgian whistle turns and didn't get into the right position in time and some took the long way around jumps instead of taking short cuts which would have shaved seconds of their times. Really interesting to see and compare a top level agility show in America to that of one in the UK. Lots of dogs with great potential but some handlers need to nail their turns and timing of commands. Thats the Kat critique for today :P
  6. That is so cool I Love watching dogs do what they instinctively want to do :D
  7. Hi Rave, welcome to Dogo :D My name is Kat and my partner in crime is Kes who is a 6 month old Border collie bitch and the love of my life
  8. Happy Gotcha day :bday:
  9. 18 is a great age to reach! Hope everything is ok for your kitty friend
  10. my wee Kes isn't so wee anymore :o . Mum and Dad sent photos (along with much needed dollars) and Kessie looks like a doggy now rather than a pup! I wish I had a scanner here to let you all see how much she has grown and she is sooo pretty. i can't wait to get back to see her and I promise when I get back home, I'll take loads of pics of her to make up for not posting any for 2 months
  11. Yeah I've done it with Kes from day one, just so she knows who makes the rules and who runs the show at my house. We just roll around and play growl and i grab her paws alternatively but very fast , but i can tell her down and she drops on a penny and when i say that'll do, thats the end of the game and she quits. Thats the difference between knowing when you can play fight with your dog. It can sometimes be very dangerous if you dont know exactly what you are doing or your dog is very dominant, and you should always have an obedience command to quit play immediately when its warranted or the dog gets too rough.
  12. I would say a white GSD. Doesn't look like theres a spec of Malamute in there.
  13. Good luck with the results and keep us posted R2. I just got a chance to read the other night about your boy and hope that the tests will give you some answers
  14. Wow that sounds like a lot of fun! :D Glad that you and Candy have been having a good time together

  23. Happy Whelping day to you Jesse! you are still as handsome as ever :bday:
  24. Hey everyone, Yep i did indeed go for a little while and sat down all the time. It was really interesting watching the different styles of running dogs and what i took away from it that there were a lot of very good dogs but the handlers let them down by not taking short cuts or doing turns like belgian whistles for example. I loved it though and it made me want to get into that ring so much to run a dog and get that rush that you get :D Miss Kes will be starting more serious agility training in another few months when her bones are fully developed :D I'm still feeling tired and the simplest things like taking a bath take all the energy out of me, but i'm dealing with it. The Doctor said that I can go and cry in a corner or i can face up to it and live with it and it will make me stronger. You guys know me and you know what option I'm taking. I appreciate life so much and not to sound weird but its so precious. One day I'm so fit and healthy and within the next 24 hours the doctors are fighting to keep me alive. it just makes you think i guess.
  25. Theres an agility trial on today in dallas and ive convinced susie to let me go for an hour on the promise that I won't try to get up and run a dog lol. i've not been out for over a week so im dead excited and having never seen american agility before, it should be interesting to compare to the uk agility system. It might sound so trivial but when you have been cooped like a chicken in hospital for ages, its just good to get out :D I miss my wee Kes so much as well and talked to Mum this morning and she said shes totally spoilt by the family now. i just want to get better to get back to my puppy dog :D
