 Posted on Sun, Jun. 15, 2003 Poodle taken in carjacking reunited with family By CHRISTINE VENDEL The Kansas City Star Buddy is back. The 31/2-year-old poodle who was "dognapped" when the car he was in was carjacked Monday in Westport was reunited with his family Saturday, dirty but otherwise healthy, family members said. The dog was found near 61st Street and Leavenworth Road, not far from where police believe the carjacker dropped him off Monday afternoon. "He looks pretty good for being lost for five days," said the grandson of the 87-year-old woman who was one of the victims of the carjacking. The dog lived with the woman and her daughter. Buddy was taken at Westport Road and Broadway. His owner had parked her car in the shade, leaving her keys in the ignition. Her 87-year-old mother was in the passenger seat. While the owner was buying plants from a hardware store, a man jumped in the front seat and drove off. The 87-year-old woman fought with the man, and he pushed her out near 38th and Wyandotte streets. She broke her nose and suffered cuts that required 24 stitches. Buddy was still in the car, "barking his little heart out" as the carjacker drove off. Police on Wednesday arrested Nathaniel R. Phipps, 41, of Kansas City, who was driving the stolen car. Court records said he told police he didn't see a dog in the car. Robbery Detective Chad Rives said Saturday that Phipps eventually told officers the dog was let loose near 61st Street and Sloan Avenue in Kansas City, Kan. Five family members of Buddy's owner, including the 87-year-old victim, went to the Kansas City, Kan., neighborhood Saturday morning to look for Buddy. Police had received tips that the dog was seen in the neighborhood late last week, and investigators thought he was still alive. Neighbors directed family members to a ravine and wooded area where Buddy had been seen earlier Saturday morning. He would not come out of the wooded area when neighbors called, but he ran out when he heard voices he recognized. "He whimpered for about the first 10 minutes," said the grandson. "My mother and grandmother are elated. They have had a few sleepless nights over him being gone. It's really a thrill they got him back." :laola: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have little rounded end scissors that I use to cut the hair out of Sparks ears...He just sleeps with his head in my lap will I work on his ears. My vet gave me some meds...that I put in every week or so... all of my Goldens had ear problems because of the way their ears hang, and the hair in the ears.

One of my good friends use to breed her Yorkie..I got on to her about it and she now only adopts.. She really thought she was doing it right...I asked her "where are the puppies today"...she said she could look it up in the paper work,(of course that's if the first buyers still have the dog)...I then Said where are their puppies and their puppies and so on and so on.. ..She said her responsibility stopped when she found them good homes. I asked her where the H--- is that written.... I then asked where her grandkids are...and if you live long enough will you know where their kids are and thiers and theirs. She got my point.... Will people ever at it...God named them D O G for a reason. :( :madgo:
