One of the best things to bathe it with is salt water, one teaspoon of salt in a pint of tepid water, get a piece of cotton wool and soak it in the water, sqeeze it onto the wound and wipe it off with some clean cotton wool soaked in the salt water also, do this every 3 hours, remember to keep using clean cotton wool all the time otherwise you will reinfect it. I always use this on my dogs if they get a wound or a cut foot, it's a very good antiseptic. If it happens to be an animal bite that is different, you need to take the dog to the vet because animals carry a lot of bacteria in there mouths and that can be serious, any way try the salt water it very rarely fails.

Our three labs love to pick thier own blackberries when we go out for walks, they never eat the green or red ones always the black, even our 6 month old seems to know the difference. other walkers can't believe what they see.

I got 75 points too. I'm not vegetarian but care about the way animals are treated and would never eat baby animals like lambs or calves. I also only eat freedom foods and free range eggs. I think animals should have the same rights as humans and should not be used for experiments, unfortunately they have no say in the matter! :(

:lYou can get humane rat traps where you put food in this cage and when the rat goes in to get the food adoor comes down behind it. My brother got one of these cages and caught 2 rats, he then let them out in the countryside. This way the rat doesnt suffer and you get rid :P ol:

:rHi This really is a problem! First of all are you sure it's dog poo he's rolling in? I am a dog walker and have been for 40 years and I have never had any of my dogs roll in dog poo, foxes poo yes, this is quite common in dogs especially the more dominant dog.You can usually tell by the smell! Foxes poo is very strong smelling and the smell lingers on the dog a long time. The best way to get rid of the smell is to bath him in Fairy liquid, I've found it very good. Dont use this if he has any skin problems though and watch it doesnt get in his eyes. Apart from all that I dont think you can stop the dog rolling apart from dragging him away and telling him off when you catch him doing it. dont tell him off if he does it when you are not watching him and comes back all smelly, he wont know what he's being told off for, you've actually got to catch him at it. I've been walking a little Westie for 12 years and she does this nearly every walk! I don't know if any one else can give you any advice, I would be interested too.You might find people who say keep the dog on a lead but that would spoil the dogs walk. I could do that with the Westie but I would rather she enjoyed her walk. I Just have to put up with the mess in my car and the bathing afterwards! Hope someone else comes up with an answer. The only thing about large breeds of dogs is that they shouldn't have too much excersise, I'm talking about such breeds as great danes, greyhounds (they only need short bursts) irish wolfhounds etc. Ask any breeder or vet about this I'm sure they will tell you the same. The body and bone structure of the breeds cant take a lot of intensive excersise, this is one of the reasons I suggested a golden retriever, they are a very friendly all round dog and as I said before very good with children and other animals. I don't want you to think I'm swaying you towards this breed, I'm just telling you my experiences of them. Good luck in your search. Pat :oops:

I dont' think you could go wrong with a golden retriever, they are excellent with children and other dogs, easy to train and will alwayswant to please you . I walk and care for dogs every day when thier owners are away and never have any problems with the golden retrievers. I would sugest though you get a bitch rather than a dog to my mind they are easier to train . If you need any puppy advice please email me, I'm quite expert on the bringing up of puppies!
